These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Harrington Matchmaking website, the Constellations membership program, the Singles Database, and all related services (together, the "Services"), operated by Harrington Matchmaking ("we," "us," "our"), located at 7200 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814. By using our Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is truthful and accurate.

2. Description of Services

Harrington Matchmaking provides matchmaking, coaching, and community services, including the Constellations membership program and the Singles Database. Constellations offers quarterly, human-reviewed consideration for introductions within our established network, access to a member portal, educational content, an AI guidance tool (Nova), and optional add-ons such as coaching sessions.

We do not guarantee that you will be matched, introduced to any specific person, or achieve any particular outcome, including but not limited to a successful relationship. Our Services facilitate connection; they do not promise a result.

3. The Singles Database

The Singles Database is a legacy program in which individuals submit profile information to be considered as potential introduction candidates for our private, individual matchmaking clients. Submitting information through the Singles Database does not create a membership relationship, does not guarantee that you will be contacted, considered, or introduced to any client, and does not entitle you to any particular outcome.

We have largely transitioned new participants to the Constellations membership program, but the Singles Database may still be used at our discretion, and previously submitted information may remain active for this purpose consistent with our Privacy Policy.

4. Membership Terms

Membership requires payment of a join fee covering onboarding and the first year, and an annual renewal fee thereafter, at the rates in effect at the time of enrollment. Coaching add-ons and other optional services are offered separately, as described at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid, except as otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

5. Member Conduct

By participating in the Constellations community, you agree to the Member Conduct Agreement and any space-specific guidelines presented to you in the member portal, including but not limited to rules about respectful communication, contact information, and appropriate use of Discussion Spaces and direct messages. We may suspend or terminate your access for violating these standards, engaging in harassing, threatening, or inappropriate conduct, or otherwise acting in a way that harms another member or the community.

6. Connection Requests and Communication

The Connection Request process governs how members express interest in connecting with one another. Accepting a Connection Request indicates only a willingness to communicate; it is not an agreement to date, meet, or continue any conversation. Either member may end contact at any time, for any reason.

Direct messages between members are private. We do not routinely monitor the content of direct messages. You are responsible for reporting any concerning behavior you encounter to us.

7. Nova

Nova is an AI guidance tool built on our coaching methods and monitored by our staff. Nova is not a licensed therapist, coach, financial advisor, or attorney, and nothing Nova provides should be treated as professional advice. If you need individualized guidance, please contact a coach or an appropriate licensed professional.

8. Compass Referrals

Compass connects members with independent, third-party professionals (such as coaches, photographers, stylists, and image consultants) at a member's request. These professionals are not employees or agents of Harrington Matchmaking. We do not guarantee the quality of services provided by referred professionals and are not responsible for the outcome of any engagement you enter into with them.

9. Affiliate Links

Our website and member portal may include links to books, products, or other resources offered by third parties, including affiliate links from which we may earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you. Where we present more than one purchase option for the same resource, the choice of seller is entirely yours. We are not responsible for the products, pricing, availability, or policies of any third-party seller, and any affiliate relationship will be disclosed where the link appears.

10. Intellectual Property

All content in the Constellations portal, including articles, North Star content, Field Notes prompts, and related materials, is owned by Harrington Matchmaking or its licensors and is provided for your personal use as a member. You may not copy, distribute, or republish this content outside the community without our permission.

11. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Harrington Matchmaking does not conduct comprehensive background checks on members or Singles Database participants beyond what is described in our enrollment process, and you are responsible for exercising your own judgment and caution when interacting with other members or candidates, including when meeting anyone in person.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harrington Matchmaking will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including any interaction with another member, Singles Database candidate, or a Compass-referred professional. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, the Member Conduct Agreement, or applicable law, or that we determine poses a risk to another member or the community.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
