Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Harrington Matchmaking ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our website, our Constellations membership program, our Singles Database, and any related services (together, the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
Contact and identity information: name, email address, phone number, and similar details you provide when you inquire about our services, apply for membership, or communicate with us.
Application and intake information: details you share during an initial consultation or intake conversation, including a recorded video conversation (the "Constellations Intake Conversation") used to understand your goals and match preferences.
Singles Database submissions: if you submit your information through our Singles Database form, we collect the profile, preference, and contact information you provide for potential consideration as an introduction candidate for our private, individual matchmaking clients.
Membership and profile information: information you provide as part of your Constellations member profile, including preferences, interests, and other details relevant to introductions.
Payment information: billing details processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems.
Portal activity: information generated by your use of the Constellations member portal, including posts, comments, and participation in Discussion Spaces such as Field Notes.
Direct messages: private messages you exchange with other members through the portal's direct messaging feature.
Communications with Nova: questions and interactions with Nova, our AI guidance tool.
Website usage information: standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and cookies, collected when you visit our website.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
Evaluate membership applications and facilitate introductions consistent with our matchmaking process
Consider you as a potential match for a private matchmaking client, if you have submitted information through our Singles Database
Operate and improve the Constellations member portal and its features
Communicate with you about your membership, events, and services
Process payments for membership and add-on services
Refer you to independent professionals through Compass, where you have requested or consented to a referral
Maintain the safety and integrity of our community
Comply with legal obligations
3. Nova, Our AI Guidance Tool
Nova is built on Harrington Matchmaking's coaching methods and is monitored by our staff to help ensure quality and safety. Conversations with Nova may be reviewed by our team. Nova is a tool, not a substitute for a coach or licensed professional, and is not a source of medical, legal, or mental health advice.
4. Direct Messages Between Members
Direct messages sent between members through the portal are private. Harrington Matchmaking and Constellations staff do not routinely read or monitor the content of direct messages between members. If you experience a problem in a direct message conversation, you are responsible for reporting it to us so we can review and take appropriate action. We cannot address a concern we are not made aware of.
5. The Singles Database
The Singles Database is a legacy program that predates our Constellations membership program. Individuals submit profile information through a form to be considered as potential introduction candidates for Harrington Matchmaking's private, individual matchmaking clients. We have largely transitioned to the Constellations membership model, but the Singles Database may still be used, and information already submitted may continue to be retained and used consistent with this Policy.
If you are being considered as a potential match for a specific client, we may share relevant profile information with that client for the purpose of evaluating a potential introduction. We do not make Singles Database information publicly available, and we do not share it with anyone other than in connection with a specific, individualized consideration.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. Beyond the Singles Database sharing described in Section 5, we may share information:
With independent professionals in our Compass referral network, only when you have requested or consented to that referral, and only to the extent necessary to facilitate it
With service providers who help us operate our business, such as our payment processor and our member portal provider (Circle), each of whom is contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes
When required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public
In connection with a business transition, such as a merger or sale, subject to this Policy or a successor policy
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you deactivate or your membership ends, or if you have submitted information through the Singles Database, we may retain certain records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as financial recordkeeping or continued consideration for potential matches.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. This includes information submitted through the Singles Database. To make a request, contact us at member@harringtonmatchmaking.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate properly and understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
12. Affiliate Links
Our website and member portal may include links to books, products, or other resources offered by third parties. Some of these are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. Where more than one purchase option is presented for the same resource, you are free to choose whichever seller you prefer. We only recommend resources we believe are genuinely useful to our members, and any affiliate link will be clearly marked as such where it appears.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Continued use of our Services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
