This program “is an affordable, accessible, inclusive apartment building and a membership-based community center for adults of all abilities. Main Street empowers people with and without disabilities to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. Adults with disabilities have very limited options to live independently and participate in community life, which leads to isolation, loneliness, stress on aging parents and communities robbed of the contributions of all of their citizens. Main Street offers a solution. Main Street has taken an innovative approach to building both an apartment complex and a community of people that offer those of all abilities a place to belong and to thrive. We aim to spread this approach in Maryland and across the country.”
